Body Double (Brian De Palma 1984) w/ Greg Kleinschmidt
Felicia is joined by Greg Kleinschmidt to discuss Brian De Palma’s tale of a struggling actor who witnessed a murder from afar, in Body Double (1984).
We chat about De Palma’s fascination who characters who spy on others and how easy it is for them to become embroiled in a murder case. We also talk about the visual tricks De Palma uses to lead the audience astray and always keep them guessing.
Body Double is my favourite De Palma, it’s a film that hits every single button for me, from the film within a film, to the Frankie Goes to Hollywood music video, and a 360 degree makeout scene that has yet to be rivalled. This film is De Palma’s true essence.
